Day 6: A Good Day

Today we started walking from Estello at 6:40am, and we arrived in Los Arcos, our stopping point for the day, at noon.  Early.  Yay :)

Today's portion of the pilgrimage was fairly flat.  We walked quickly, hoping to avoid the midday sun.  Even when the sun did get a little toasty, there was a nice breeze to keep us cool.  Getting an early morning start helped too, and it was beautiful!
Found an unlocked church!

Oh yeah, and next to the water fountain, there was a wine fountain.  Chris and I drank pilgrim style out of my shell.  The shell is the symbol of the pilgrim.  Every pilgrim ties one to his backpack as a sign that he's not just hiking; he's a pilgrim!

In fact, we and across some pretty pilgrim-friendly places today:

Ok, they're getting ready for lights out here, so here's a few more quick pictures and notes to sum up the day:
My lovely pilgrim companion :)

What a beautiful day!

Mass tonight at this AMAZING church, complete with pilgrim blessing at the end :) Jesus is so good, faithful, and generous!! I'm pretty sure He even softened my steps today too--my feet still hurt, but not as much :)

Can't wait for coffee with Fr. Pascal in the morning! Woohoo! Now, bed awaits.

I will leave you with my Camino quote of the day, this one is from St. Josemaria:

Without the Lord you will not be able to take one sure step forward. —This conviction that you need his help will lead you to be more united to him, with a strong, enduring confidence, accompanied by joy and peace, even though the road might become hard and steep.
