Day 0: Bonjour!

Bonjour from France!! My brother and I left Rome this morning at 4am, and we just arrived in San Jean Pied de Port around 4pm this afternoon.  Tomorrow we will begin a 38 day walking pilgrimage to the tomb of St. James, a pilgrimage known as the Camino Santiago.  Wow, I can still hardly believe it.

France is BEAUTIFUL.  It looks like a story book.  I had no idea.  I can't even believe I am in France!  

What is a pilgrimage? Why exactly are we walking 800 kilometers? And how do you do that??  Follow me along the Camino, and though I already have some ideas, we'll learn along the way!
